It was never a good experience.
I am NOT a wine snob. I really have trouble distinguishing wine. As long as it is alcoholic, wet & not totally obnoxious I will drink it.
When it comes to reds I do like rough reds.
So you would think I would have been OK with Chilean reds.
Not so until yesterday.
I was at a 'Market Basket' supermarket (locally) & they had they these 1.5L 'Frontera' bottles on an endcap -- market at I think $7.99 with an INSTANT $1 rebate.
That per my sums was $6.99 for a 1.5L bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Plus the label, clearly said 'juicy & balanced'.
At that price I had to try. I use red wine to cook meat. So, worst case it would not go totally to waste. I would use it for cooking.
Well, I was pleasantly surprised.
It is quite smooth (maybe a TAD too sweet) with no bitterness or aftertaste. It is eminently palatable.
So much so, that I plan to buy MORE IF I ever come across them again.
Hence, my desire to share this with you.
😇
