Others years, since 1887, it has happened on the 106th DAY of the year.

It felt late to me, but only because it had been earlier, the last few years -- last year's March 17, THE RECORD for the EARLIEST.
So, between last year and this year -- one month later.
I, however, as you can see from the 2nd graphic, take into account LEAP YEARS & count days from January 1 rather than just the calendar date. Thus, 106 days into the year is April 16 on Leap Years & April 17 on non-Leap Years.
The average for the last 139 years is the '107.7' day -- i.e., April 18/19 for non-Leap Years. So we are very close to the average.
That ice-out happened on this very same day in 2017 & 2013 is interesting. Big gap between then and 1988.
AGAIN it was on a Thursday.
Thursday BY FAR has been the day that most ice-outs occurred, i.e., 22% of the time.
The LATEST (since 1887) was actually 1888 - 132 days into the year, i.e., May 12, 1888.
The EARLIEST (since 1887) was last year -- 76 days days into the year, i.e., March 17, 2024.
