Well, if you were wondering that is why there was a pause in posts on this blog. I don't blog when I am travelling. I do need the occasional break from daily writing. 😇

It was a GOOD trip, but then again ALL trips to 'Acadia' are GOOD/GREAT by definition. It just is. It just has to be.

The weather on the first day, i.e., Mondy, was beyond Goldilocks. Sunny & in the low 70s. You couldn't ask for better & not that many visitors. Still early.

The next two days were sunny too, but it was VERY WINDY. Wow. It would blow me around! I have never experienced wind like that at Acadia.

Yes, it is true that I check the weather at Acadia, on the '10-day Outlook', before I book my trips. But, I only check for rain & NOT wind. 😇 Maybe in future I will.

Did a LOT of climbing. 3.5 MAJOR summits -- 'Champlain Mountain' (1,058') on Monday, 'Dorr Mountain' ( 1,270') on Tuesday, 1/2 of 'Huguenot Head' & 'Gorham Mountain'/'Cadillac Cliffs' (525') on Wednesday. I gave up halfway up on Huguenot because of the wind. Very exposed, sheer path. With the wind blowing me around I just didn't feel SAFE. Actually I was a bit WORRIED. Wasn't sure I would make it down OK. So, turned back. But did the interesting part. 😇

Very few people, if any, on the climbs. Deserted. That was a problem. I worry that IF I have an accident I could be there for DAYS before somebody comes by.

Late April is a good time to visit. 'Park Look Road' & 'Cadillac' are OPEN -- & you don't need reservations. Basically light traffic -- but still MORE than I am used to given my WINTER visits. In my old age I really don't like Acadia when it has crowds. 

Might make another trip in May -- but then I will try to stay away till late October.
