I heard about these, i.e., 'AI-powered' Robot Dog Walkers, on 'CNBC' this morning. I initially thought it was joke. Then to my growing HORROR I realized that they were being deadly SERIOUS. So, I had to Google. Wow! It is true!
How stupid. How ludicrous. How irresponsible.
OK. Take the pictures above. That is a big, strong DOG. What happens IF it, i.e., the dog, tries to take off? I walk -- & have walked -- BIG, strong, powerful dogs. I have been dragged along & about. I have fallen. I have injured myself. What is the robot going to do? It is not very heavy & from what I have seen of others, can have dubious balance.
Can't you just see the TikTok videos of robots, on their back, being pulled along by galloping dogs?
What happens if the dog is attacked by another dog & there is a DOG FIGHT?
Plus the security of YOUR dog. What happens if somebody comes along & just unclips the dog & takes it away? What is the robot going to do? I assume they are easy to knock down.
This is stupid. This is crazy.
This is coming up with insane ideas to justify robots.
I am sure they will do some useful stuff in the future.
But DOG WALKING should NOT be one of them.
