Yes, it was a 2022 model -- built per MY order, in Sweden, that took 3 months to be delivered. I got it on November 2, 2021. So, it would have been 4 years old this coming November. At that point I would have been out of the 4-year/50,000 mile Volvo warranty. I didn't want to keep it much beyond that. IF a 40,000 mile service for it costs $900 (minimum), I dread what parts would cost if anything went wrong.
So, I had hoped to keep it until this November or a few months after that.
Then came tariffs.
All the cars I was interested in were subject to tariffs!
Getting a 2026 model was going to be much more expensive than getting a 2025 that was already at a dealer. I did some quick shopping around. 2025 inventory, in the models that interested I, were going off lots FAST. I didn't have time to spare.
The last 18 months with this Volvo had been FUN.
It performed flawlessly. I had the 'Polestar' Performance Package installed on it. So, it FLEW. It out accelerated most cars I came across. I can't recall ever losing to a faster car.
But, I could NOT forget the first 18 months with the car. IT WAS A LIVING HELL.
It was all to do with the 'Google Built-in' Infortainment system. This was Google's first crack at it & the software SUCKED. 18 months of hell. The software also DRAINED the battery. I ended up having a trickle charger harness installed & having it continually plugged into a trickle charger.
Then finally Google started getting the software right in 2024.
Once the software was stable & up to snuff it was a JOY. Performed just as it should.
But with the warranty running out & tariffs kicking in I wasn't going to keep it.
So I got rid of it yesterday afternoon.
I was kind of sad to see it go, BUT I couldn't risk keeping it.
