In A Quandary As To How I Should Address My Female 'Physician Assistant' (PA).

For the first time in my life I am dealing with a 'Physician Assistant' (PA). She happens to be female & Asian.

I don't know how to BEST address her.

I am so used to calling my medical folks 'Doctor' or 'Nurse'. Comes very naturally.

'Physician Assistant' is a mouthful & kind of sounds rude (at least to my years). Ditto calling her 'PA'.

I noticed, to my amusement, that the nurses call her by (Anglazized) her first name 'Kathy'. I am NOT sure that they would do that with a doctor.

She is very nice & young enough to be my granddaughter. So, she probably wouldn't take umbrage if I also call her 'Kathy'. But that seems wrong.

I have to talk to her soon. I am going to have to ask her. I will let you know.

Quandaries I face in life!
