'Remarkably Bright Creatures', 'Netflix' Movie (2026) -- Started Off With Much Promise, But Rapidly Petered Off To Trite ...

Probably all my fault. Too high expectations.
I had, in recent years, heard about all these real smart Octopuses in aquariums around the world. I was hoping to learn more. [Just discovered, incidentally, that 'octopi' isn't the strictly correct plural.]
'Marcellus', the 'charismatic' octopus, is CGI! Yep, much of it is 'computer-generated imagery' (CGI). I guess that was to be expected.
Yes, there is also a lot of anthropomorphism.
In the end, we are left baffled as to how much of this is pie in the sky. Since watching the movie I have been trying to watch some 'YouTube' videos on Octopuses. I really would like to know more.
The story, you come to realize is TOO contrived. Doesn't ring true in the end.
Decent movie. Marcellus is cute.
I, however, was left wanting & disappointed at the end. But, that could have just been me. So, don't let me stop you from giving it a spin. Maybe you will love it. That would be great.
😇
