A question -- is there a correlation?
In other words, are those experiencing food insecurity likely to have more tattoos on average -- than the norm, i.e., are tattoos over-represented.
This is based on some personal observations. Very small SAMPLE & very localized.
I was helping out at a food pantry recently. I was there for about 3 hours. About 35 adults, across the age range & with a good mix of diversity, came by. I just happened to NOTICE that nearly all those adults had tattoos. It was kind of striking.
I, as is my wont, looked around. One of the employees (i.e., paid staff), a very young lady, had a tattoo. But I couldn't see any others. None of the volunteers, & there was like 25 of them, appear to have any. Yes, they could have been hidden.
Just got me wondering.
I am sure that there can be NO causation. Maybe I am wrong. Tattoos are expensive. So, I doubt whether any one with food insecurity would use whatever money they had getting a tattoo. But, what about the other way around. Those with tattoos more likely to end up in situations where they end up with food insecurity.
I don't KNOW. Just an observations. I ponder about stuff like this. I honestly do. 😇
