Though I feed her, walk her (at least 3 miles a day), & spend more time with her than anyone else, it is supposedly my now 18-year old daughter's dog. She just lets me take care of it. That is OK. It seems to work to everybody's satisfaction. But, come night, she sleeps next to me on the floor & watches TV with me.
Whereas today is her BIRTHDAY, we (per the law) got her when she was 8-weeks old.
My then 15-year old daughter found her in IOWA! 1,300-miles away. This was January 2021 -- at the height of COVID. Yes, I agreed to drive her, in the middle of winter. WE HAD A BLAST. 6-day trip. 2,700 miles. We lucked out. We were always either ahead of a big snowstorm or behind it. We never had to drive through any snow.
As you can see from the above picture Rowen is NOT spoilt. We are very particular about that.
That said my daughter spent the last month planning for Rowen's birthday. She went shopping for the presents. Wrapped them. We were reminded every day, multiple times, as to when it was and what we were doing. SMILE.
We all had a blast.
This "Benson's Animal Park", now RE-PURPOSED, is one of their (i.e., daughter & Rowen's) favorite places to walk. Their #1 spot is 'Fort Williams' in South Main -- but it was going to be too cold for that delightful seaside venue. That is best when it is warmer.
Well most of the celebrations are done. They are chilling out.
Over the last 20+ years the tradition took hold that all our dogs (& we invariably have two at a time) get double cheeseburgers on all their birthday. So both dogs get cheeseburgers whether it is their birthday or the other one's. They used to get cake & ice-cream too -- but that was with prior dogs before we became health conscious.
Oh, we will have more or less the SAME CELEBRATION eight weeks from now, on January 27, 2025, to mark the 4th anniversary of getting her. 😇
