Stock Market Closing At 1pm On 'Black Friday' Is SILLY, Just Close For The Whole Day ...

I don't know how many traders are FORCE/obligated/driven/motivated to come in for this half-day on Friday, but I have always thought it was stupid.

Just let them ALL have a nice, long 4-day weekend (though, of course, you can't say that any of them would have earned it).

[I have a very low opinion of stock brokers. Now with electronic trading I don't use a broker, haven't used one in decades (I think). As far as I am concerned, stock brokers are worse that drug dealers and pimps! 😇 I will tell that to their face, & often have. They, of course, don't like me either. 😇]

But, non-brokers too have to come in for this stupid half-day. They have Thursday off for Turkey. Then they have to come in till 1pm.

I can't wait until we finally go ALL ELECTRONIC, all automated, 24x7. That is how it should be.

We now have extended hours trading. I don't do much extended hours BUT it is nice to have, just when the need strikes you. So, today, they have extended hours till 5pm (as opposed to the usual 7pm).

Just make all of Black Friday extended hours trading, from 7am to 7pm.
