U.K. Assisted Dying Legislation Is A Decent Start, But Way, Way TOO RESTRICTIVE.

From 'Google News' (just a few minutes ago).
Yes, I remember when it (i.e., suicide) used to be a punishable CRIME in the U.K. because we win Ceylon (as part of the Empire) followed suit.

I really, really don't get what the problem is. I feel very strongly about this BECAUSE when the time comes I want to be able to AVAIL myself to this option. I talk to my U.S. doctor about it each time I have my annual physical. Tell him that longevity is not my goal (at all, at all) & all that I am concerned about is QUALITY OF LIFE. He assures me he understands, & that he too feels the same, BUT he doesn't want to discuss it further.

To I, dying when YOU WANT TO has to be the
most fundamental & precious of HUMAN RIGHTS.

My life. My choice.

Think about it. I don't want to live a diminished lifestyle. I really don't. I have had an OK life. When I get to the point when I can't even enjoy what little I now have, I should have a CHOICE. My life, my choice.

Yes, of course, I am strongly in favor of this initial bill -- but it is too, too, too restrictive.

😇
