Valve Gears On A 1938 14-Cylinder 'Bristol Hercules' Aero-Engine Is A Sight To Behold.

I saw this, a few days back, on Facebook & was mesmerized. WOW. Engineering like that, especially reliable mechanisms good enough to be mass produced for aircraft use, leaves me in total awe -- humbled to the core. When I was young (before I was told about computers (in 1969)) I had my heart set on becoming an aeronautical engineer (once I realized my eyesight would preclude me from becoming a pilot). There is no way I could even dream of designing something as complicated and BEAUTIFUL as this.

Given that it was on Facebook -- I had to look it up to make sure that it was indeed real.

It is. From 1938 to boot.

That it is British makes me happy and proud. I am still a dual-citizen.

Look it up. Here is the Wikipedia link.

I found two YouTube videos for YOU. Enjoy.
