Must HAVE At Least ONE 'Lego' Set Under The Tree On Christmas Day.

 

This year's SOLITARY Lego Set -- A Small Set At That.

But we I got TWO Sets for Advent (2024) & they are in full swing as I write.

The two (2) Lego Advent Calendars in 2024.

In 2019 I made the HUGE mistake of NOT having a single Lego set under the trees (& yes we have presents under two trees (on two separate floors of the house)). The two youngest kids (19 & 13) at the time had set they didn't want any LEGO for Christmas. So, I didn't get any.

Guess who got upset on Christmas Day?

ME!

Why? Because I had got so, so used to having LEGOs at Christmas. I worked out why I was upset. It had been a 27-year tradition -- i.e., LEGO sets under the tree(s) & the kids opening LEGO sets. I missed that.

Yes, I like LEGOs as much as my 4 kids (& they say I love them more). I do like LEGO. I didn't have LEGO growing up. But, I have made up for it. 

I started making BIG LEGO items (like boats & cars) for my eldest daughter before she was three. She would watch me build them. She got into LEGOs quickly.

My youngest, now 18, does LOVE LEGOs too. She got four BIG (i.e., 1000+ piece) LEGO sets last Christmas. She built one, a BIG treehouse within days. Then she got 'distracted'. She has a backlog of three. So she didn't want any this year.

This SMALL set will as such be a surprise. It is small set so she will be able to squeeze it in. I will let you know.
