Though I have seen the NYC 'Times Square' ball (ahead of it being dropped) & am a HUGE fan of the Royal Observatory (which I have visited many times), I had NOT put the two together!

I will confess I had never given the significance of the Ball Drop much though.

Though I more often than most look up the history/meaning of names, I had NOT done so when it came to 'Times Square'. My loss. My shame.
