Yes, the last (i.e., current) Buddha was far from perfect. Like Musk he was rich -- a PRINCE. Like Musk he liked women. He had a harem -- though unlike Musk he only claims to have had one child (a son) who he ABANDONED the day the baby was born. So, yes, you can't totally rule out Musk right out of the gate.
Plus, depending on what 'school' of Buddhism you follow, the current Buddha, 'Gautama', is NOT the first Buddha or the LAST. There is supposed to be a SUCCESSION of Buddhas -- one coming on the scene when 'there is a need'! That said, the next one was NOT expected for a thousand more years. I think this is too soon.
