'National Park Service' Resignations & Hiring Freeze Will Impact 'Acadia' This Summer -- Question Is The Severity.

Two factors are at play, in parallel. Chance that some Arcadia NPS employees will accept the '7-months of Pay' buyout offer. There is a concern that some might. The question is how many.

The other, which is even more impactful, is the supposed FREEZE on HIRING which will impact the routine SEASONAL HIRING for the summer. That is what would be the showstopper -- quite literally.

I had read, recently, that Acadia had trouble filling all of its seasonal spots last year, i.e. 2024. If I recall right, they were unable to even get half of the places filled. NOW, this year, IF the hiring freeze continues, there will be NO SPOTS. So, there won't be even one seasonal hire. That has to be bad. Things need to be done at the Park.

Maybe come spring some sense will prevail and some season hiring will be approved. If not services will get impacted. I hope not.
