I was planning/hoping to get one this October to replace my accursed 2021 'Volvo XC60' whose 4-year warranty will expire in early November.
Then last night, when I was researching US made cars, for my post on the 25% auto tariffs, I saw the stories that the XT4 & XT5 were getting discontinued to make way for MORE EV production! Wow.
I am kind of bummed. I was looking forward to being a Cadillac owner AGAIN. I had two Caddies, an XTS & a XLS, in total for about 8-years. Loved the XTS -- which was all black. I have owned a LOT of sports cars, but that XTS was my ROCKET SHIP. I took it to 122 mphs. Fastest I have driven. I drove that car regularly over 100 mph. 😇
I even got a Cadillac Credit Card!
I spoke to a dealer this morning. They still have XT4s coming in. They expect that they will keep on getting them into the Summer. So the dealer thinks that I should still be able to get one in Sept/Oct. Hhhmmm.
But, maybe this is a blessing in disguise.
Last week I realized that I probably will NOT be happy IF I am not driving a MILD HYBRID. My Volvo XC60 is a Mild Hybrid (with 'Polestar'). It has impressive acceleration. I am an acceleration junkie. So, I probably will not be thrilled in a compact SUV that doesn't have the electric motors to give acceleration a kick.
So, all in all, I am not totally devastated. With the tariffs we will all have to wait & see.
I, of course, have plenty of time. I will, as is my wont, do a ton of research.
I will, of course, keep you posted. Cheers. 😇
