'Mount Desert Islander' Newspaper Again Parrots The 'Acadia Record Visitation' Claim ... I CORRECT Them ... They Fix It.

It drives me nuts when folks get easily verifiable data WRONG. 

This claim, over the last few years, that we are seeing RECORD visitations at 'Acadia' is inexcusable.

That the record, per the National Park Service (no less), was set in 1989. You can find that data clearly stated on their website.

As you can see above (from the inserted RESPONSE) the data was there -- but they missed it! SMILE.

Just like the myth that Acadia was the 1st National Park East of the Mississippi. 

To their CREDIT, they were quick to acknowledge the slip up & correct it. That is good. I was impressed.

Maybe this will ensure they are more diligent in the future.
