'New Hampshire State Library': So RELIEVED That It Is NOT Going To Be Axed. Would Have Been A Crime Against Humanity.

I was beside myself when I read, yesterday, that there were talks to DEFUND it, i.e., axe it.

Sacré 'bloody' bleu!

That would have been a crime against humanity. That library is a GLOBAL TREASURE. Not only is it HISTORIC, the building is so gorgeous and imposing.

I have only been inside twice -- something I now intend to rectify, bigtime. But, then I learnt today that it is ONLY OPEN Monday - Friday, 9 to 4:30!  That is NOT right.

Both times I visited was to use the 'Oxford English Dictionary' -- the FULL, 20 volume, version. I just love that dictionary. It was the nearest place where I could find it. Wow.

What would have happened IF they axed it boggles the mind. I am sure somebody would have bought it. IF I had the money I would have bought it!

But we have a reprieve.

I have NO ISSUES with them wanting to defund the 'NH Council on the Arts'. By all means, go ahead. Very different from the Library.

So, I am happy. I am relieved.
