March 13, 2025 will be the pope's 12th anniversary as pope.

Looks like he will be spending it still in hospital. It will be one-day short of 4-weeks (28-days). That is, however, not the longest stay in a hospital by a pope. It is the 2nd longest. Pope John Paul II had at least one longer stay -- but, unlike Francis, he got shot through his stomach.

12 years as pope is respectable, but NOT that long in the scheme of things. 

As you can see from the graphics 56 popes had had longer papacies. But as you can also see, if he is still alive, he will start moving up the table ... In a month he would leapfrog up two places. One more three months later. Maybe he might even make it to his 13th anniversary. He seems remarkably resilient.

Who knows, he might live for another 5.5 years & become the OLDEST KNOWN POPE. That would be neat.
