First round, in the evening of the 1st Day of a Conclave is ALWAYS OPTIONAL.
Whether they hold it or NOT determined by a SIMPLE MAJORITY vote.
If held, it will be SYMBOLIC. A Felicitation Round. Meaningless.
At least 20 cardinals will get votes -- some possibly even over 80.
It is a round when the Electors show their RESPECT & gratitude to cardinals WHO will NOT be pope!
A way of saying 'Thank You, BUT that is it. Will not be voting for you to be Pope'.
This is all very well understood.
So we will get BLACK SMOKE. Late in the evening, around 8:15pm, Rome time, at the earliest.
OK?
😇
