Breeding Shelter For Our Loons Has Been Installed ... Now Just Waiting.

NO, I am NOT involved in this. There is a group that have been taking care of the Loons on our lake for ages.

We typically do have a fair amount of Loons & we have had a few babies hatched. Yes, we have lost quite a few too!

They have been putting out these shelters for quite a few years now.

They work well.

The Loons work out what they are for.

Very cute to see a mother nesting ... & then, with luck, feeding babies.

I, of course, give them all the space they crave. I don't go close. I use my ZOOM.

The shelter is unoccupied as yet.

I saw three Loons 15 days ago -- & then the following day.

Haven't seen any since then -- though I haven't been to the lake every day. I was there yesterday & today.

I will keep you posted.

Wish us luck. We need it. Thanks. 😇
