Pope Leo XIV: 15 Oldest Pope To Be Elected As Of 1400; 4th Oldest Pope To Be Elected As Of 1800.

Click to ENLARGE. Data from my magic papal spreadsheet.
At 69.65 years when elected, Pope Leo XIV is kind of old, but also not that old -- especially when compared to his two immediate predecessors.

Only 3 popes since 1800 older than him -- albeit all of them in the last 67 years.

Well the charts above tell you all you have to know. I couldn't get to this earlier. Plus I had to work out his age compared to 'Leo XI' and 'Urban VII' who were also 69 when elected. Leo XI was older, Urban younger.
