I thought it was some Caribbean island. I like to guess where these pictures are from. To my amusement I am right more often than NOT! Not this time. I was a tad bummed.
I had been to Trincomalee at least 4 times. I had flown in & out of Trincomalee. I was in a DC-3 ('Dakota') plane at the Trincomalee airport when they had to CRANK START one of the engines. [Yep. Just like with an old car -- except it took 4 men and the CRANK was huge.] Not many people who can say that they have seen a plane being crank-started. It was cool. I was transfixed. I was not scared. I was v. young. I have also stayed at what was the (old British) Rest House their overlooking the FAMED Harbor.
Trincomalee did NOT look like that in my days. But I am talking nearly 60 years AGO! Yep -- I am old. This was all before I was 14. I left 'Ceylon' (now Sri Lanka) a week before my 14th birthday. Though I have been back a FEW times I never made it to Trincomalee.
I am NOT sure this picture shows the MAIN, HUGE harbor per se. Trincomalee harbor, from what I recall, is one of the largest, deep-sea harbors in the world.

But seeing a scene from Sri Lanka was cool.
This, however, is NOT the only Sri Lanka Lock-Screen on Windows 11. They also have one of 'Sigiriya'.
