I Am A Beneficiary Of The 'Joe Biden' Social Security Fairness Act. WOW!

I had NO idea. I can't even say that I knew of this act. I sure had NO IDEA, whatsoever, that it applied to me.

But, I am SURE glad it does -- though it started out with me having a near panic that my Social Security, that I LIVE ON, had been DRASTICALLY CUT & I would have to tighten my already tight budget even further. I was PANICKED. 

Given my birthday I get my MODEST Social Security payment on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. [Actually I get it on the 2nd TUESDAY because 'Fidelity', with whom I bank, makes it visible/available one day ahead. Not so 'Bank of America'.]

When I was looking at how much money I was losing I noticed that I had had a SSA payment!

Aaahh!

Wednesday (not Tuesday) PLUS the 1st week. Noth the 2nd.

It was also considerably less than my normal payment. Panic. Panic. Panic.

Searched the Web. Nothing that made sense.

Called my LOCAL SSA office. I had their direct line. 10 minutes struggling with the ROBOT. Then 20 mins on hold. THEN, BINGO, a person. Very helpful (& this office has always been as such).

She put me on hold too, but eventually told me what it was. Wow. Wow. Wow.

I had no idea that SSA had been reduced because of my 'other' MINISCULE pension from the UK -- for the 10 years & 2 weeks I worked there! If NOT for those 2 weeks I would not have qualified. I had no idea. Had never planned it as such. Just how it happened.

So, I get a small lump payment & it appears my monthly payments have also gone up minutely. I will know next week.

Wow. I never complain. Better than a kick in the mouth.

Thank YOU, Joe. The only think you ever done for me. But, I still HATE YOU. Smile.
