They are also known as 'Lagoons' -- though that is an insult to real lagoons.

If YOU do see a Green Pond like this it SHOULD have some sort of fencing around it to prevent you been able to EASILY get to it.

There is a reason for the fencing & the GREEN SCUM.

Yes, exactly what the name connotes. Ponds that contain (or contained) raw sewage!

They used to be permitted. They, for obvious reasons, are not very popular now -- though it appears that you might still be able to get a permit in very rural, isolated setting.
