'My Name Is Loh Kiwan' (2024), South Korean Movie On 'Netflix' -- Many Won't Like It, BUT I Did.

Not a real story per se. More of a composite of many stories -- with no doubt some embellishment for effect. On the whole NOT bad -- IMO. A few bits that seem far fetched.

I liked it -- but I am NOT, by any means, what most of you will call 'normal' [& I have never aspired to be normal or average].

Many of you will find it BORING though there are some haunting scenes early on.

What intrigued me was the description.

North Korean DEFECTOR seeking asylum in Belgium.

I had no idea that that many North Koreans managed to ESCAPE ...

Plus Belgium. Belgium is NOT a big country. 

I wanted to know what the process was.

I learnt a LOT.

YES, they are obviously dealing in very, very small numbers, but their process seems very DIGNIFIED, efficient (but officious) & fair.

Thought provoking. Amazing the adversities that people endure.

Much of it is SAD & haunting.

But, I wanted to tell you about it. You probably won't like it.
