"Mi'kmaq" The Most Affable Of Maine's Native Indian Tribes?

That is what I currently contend. I hope that continues to ALWAYS be the case. But things change.

I thought I was 'close' to the 'Passamaquoddy' in 'Pleasant Point' ('Sipayik'). Then I was badly (& very painfully) betrayed by a few. NOT ALL. Some very OUTSTANDING folk. But a handful let me down. I was real hurt. I had hoped to be real close to them. Work with them. See what little I could do to help them .... Well that went by the way.

The Mi'kmaq & Passamaquoddy live cheek by jowl. Suffice to say there is thus much intermingling. So, as it happened to first to befriend me at Pleasant Point happened to be a Mi'kmaq. Very nice guy.

I spent a GREAT weekend with the Mi'kmaq last August. I was real impressed by them. Went out of the way to welcome me & include me. Yes, I even took part in the Grand Opening!

I am going again to spend some time with them. I hope it works out. I would like to be real good friends with them. Be a part of THEIR community.

Yes, I relate with Native Americans. I look more like them than they do! And they know it.

I get asked if I am Native.

I get told that I would never be questioned if I claim to be Native. I never would. I respect their heritage.

So, I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I am under the orange flag on the extreme right.
