Most popes have at a minimum their main secretary living with them.
That sure was the case with 'Benedict XVI'. But he went further he also had his female (musical) muse 'Ingrid Stampa' living with him. Having female housekeepers is also common -- though typically they are nuns. The most infamous being 'Pius XII' 'La Popessa', viz., Pascalina Lehnert.
I am pretty sure that poor 33-day 'Smiling Pope', 'John Paul I' had two secretaries living with him in addition to a retinue of nuns acting as housekeepers.
So, this housemate 'thing' is a red-herring.
What is NOT is how Augustinian the pope will end up being.
There were concerns that 'Francis' never stopped being 'obedient' to his 'Superior' in the Jesuit Order. That would have been highly irregular.
The same applies to Leo.
Yes, as Pope he can do whatever.
But, in a way that is the THING. He is meant to be the APEX of the pyramid.
Something to keep an eye on. No big issue really. He can do whatever he wants. He is THE POPE.
😇
