I was somewhat confused. My healthcare was with 'Humana' (& had been for YEARS) than with 'Anthem'. I thought it was some promotional pitch -- but that didn't make sense in April.
I opened the envelope, and among a ton of wasted paperwork, I found a CHECK for $26 (or thereabouts).
I am (in my old age) fairly savvy about checking for (& spotting) scams. So, I checked, repeatedly, to see IF the check contained any suspicious wording (e.g., saying that depositing this check would obligate me to sign-up with Anthem). Check looked good. So, I deposited it. It was accepted. At MOST it will buy me 2 bottles of wine. But, that is ALWAYS better than a kick in the teeth.
So, once the check was accepted, I again read the letters that came with it.
This was a REFUND for payments I had made in 2018.
Yes, 2018.
Letter says, as YOU can see (on image above), that I should have RECEIVED this by Sept. 30, 2019!
I get it 6.5 years later.
WTF.
But better than a kick in the teeth.
Not sure what is up. But, I don't have the time to investigate.
Just letting YOU KNOW.
Pax.
