I, surprising myself, came up with a GREAT ANSWER right away. I am quite PROUD of it. I will tell you what it was at the end. You WILL LIKE it. 😁

I am sure that this question (or a more generalized version with 'England' substituted for 'London') is sure to come up in the next few days.
Many Americans do not appear to have realized that the 4th is a very specific American holiday.
Also the case that many don't fully grasp what it was all about and the role played by the British.
Funnily enough, the question might have been more germane if 'Paris' had been used rather than 'London'. The French probably would be happy to celebrate the 4th with the American -- 'Lafayette' and all that.

Well, here was my spur of the moment answer.
How do they celebrate the 4th of July in London?
Quietly, Very Quietly.

True story. 😁
When I used to do seminars in Britain I used to tell this story. They loved it.
