Yes, this year's Labor Day feels late -- Monday, September 7.

Yes, it is late. As late as it can ever be, i.e., you can't have it on September 8 or later.

First Monday of September.

That means it has to fall between September 1 and 7. Not before, not after.

It last fell on Sept. 7 in 2020. That was at the height of COVID. So there was NOT much celebration. That is probably why most of us can't remember it falling on that day.

That was 6 years ago.

A 6 year gap between annual holidays like this is NORMAL given that we have 7 days in a week. So, we have just cycled through the 7 days -- with Leap Years not messing us up.

Prior to 2020, it had been 2009. A 11 year gap. That is par for the course when a Leap Year gets in the way -- i.e., 7 days in a week & a Leap Year every 4 days. 7+4=11.

The next time will be in 2037. Another 11 year gap. COOL.
