I Installed 'Windows 11' 24H2 On My Main PC In 43-Minutes, Without Any Issues --> What A Relief.

 

I was dreading it!

I could NOT afford to have anything go wrong on this my MAIN, daily, workhorse PC.

So I had 'stopped' UPDATES.

I installed 24H2 on my backup PC (a Geekom Mini-PC) and on my laptop. So, I had a fairly good idea of the process and what it entails.

Today, I bit the bullet.

It went smoothly.

I am on a 1Gig hardwired Internet connection getting around 760Mbps. So, it didn't take long to download.

Though this is NOT a gaming PC or a very powerful one (by design) it is NO SLOUCH either. I knew what I was doing. It is perfect for my needs, doesn't use much power & as such runs cool (i.e., NOT hot).

I continued to work while it did the download & install. That part took 38 minutes. That is quick I think.

THEN CAME THE RESTART.

That part too 5 minutes -- which was much faster than I expected. I was HAPPY.

So, 43 minutes start to FINISH.

This was Windows 11 HOME.

On ALL 3 of my PCs the SETTING ICON disappeared from the Taskbar. This time I was expecting it. BINGO. Gone. Easy enough to PIN in back.

I am RELIEVED. Wow. Now for 25H2 in 11 months. Can't win.

Hope 24H2 treats me well. Fingers & toes crossed. 😇
