"Rowen", Our Newfie -- We Got Her 4 -Years Ago, Today, In Iowa. 2,300-Mile Trip To Get Her!

She changed our life -- for the better. Can't imagine what it would have been without her.

IT wasn't as if we didn't have dogs. We had 'Braxton', our rescue 'Harrier' already. We had lost a beautiful Golden that had had for nearly 14 years about 6 weeks earlier!

This was my youngest daughter's doing. She liked dogs, having had dogs all her life, BUT she had never been that attached to any dog. When the Golden died she decided SHE was getting a dog. I said we will wait 3 months. She waited about 4 weeks. This was during COVID. She was on her PC. She started looking around. SHE wanted a BIG DOG. It could NOT be from a breeding farm. It had to be pretty. We were somewhat flexible on gender.

She found 'Rowen', on the Web, in Iowa! TOLD me we were going to Iowa to get her. She knows that I do what she tells me to do. This was in the height of winter. It was COVID. These were the days I had Jags. Wasn't going to drive 2,300 miles, in the winter, in a Jag. So we rented a luxury SUV & had to switch it 2 days in because the electric windows packed up.

It took us a week, Sunday to Sat. Picked Rowen up on Wednesday. COVID made hotel stays complicated. But a trip for a lifetime -- just I & my daughter. We had a ball.

We got ROWEN.

4 years ago. WOW.

She was 18 pounds when we got her -- on the day she turned 8 weeks. She, ON A DIET now, is 100 pounds heavier, most of that muscle. Very fit girl. Very happy girl. She makes us happy.
