Walked On Water Today -- It Was Fun (But I Wasn't Taking Any Chances (Yet)).

I like walking on ice -- on New Hampshire lakes. I have been doing it for nearly 30 years -- & have fallen through the ice 5 times. That, however, was when I was much younger. These days I am much more cautious -- PLUS I am invariably on my own. So if I fall in there is no one to call for help.

'Halfmoon' is our lake -- i.e., we have deeded access rights to it. I walk by it (& partly around it) nearly every day. When it is frozen I do like to venture on the ice -- as long as there is a snow covering. Why? The snow gives me traction. Without the snow the ice is too slippery. I do know my way around ice/snow. 😉

Today was NOT the first time, this year, that I ventured onto the ice. I went on it yesterday as well -- but did not record it. Today I did.

As you can see I hugged the coast. There is no point taking chances. In a few days I will venture straight out. I like to wait until I see snowmobile tracks. I also like walking on those -- compacted snow & even better traction.

So stay tuned. It is fun. Want to come & join me. I am & expert. 😇

😇
