'Aga Khan (IV)', Who I Knew As A Horse-Mad, Playboy, Died Yesterday (2/4/2025) -- Per the 'BBC'.

He was well known in Europe in the 1970s and 1980s. I now see that he had both U.K. and French citizenship.

I heard of his exploits, often, growing up in the UK in the 1970s/1980s. He was quite the playboy. I was in awe. Heard a lot about his horseracing.

I heard about his death on 'BBC Radio' this morning -- during my daily listen. I realized that I hadn't heard that name, which I immediately knew, in decades! I guess he is not famous in the US. Hence this post ...

Not sure what his death means. I know nothing about his religion. Too confusing, and I have my handfull trying to keep tabs of Buddhism & Catholicism.

This is for FYI -- just in case you were interested. Not sure it got any coverage in the U.S.

Not sure if you saw, but on Feb 6 Francis promoted Cardinal Prevost to the Cardinal Bishop. Is this the first American born person to ever hold this rank?

Also notable is that Francis gave Prevost the Albano subcurian title; I guess when these are available he does still award them. I recall Albano was late of Sodano...
