Plus, I have 38 years of catching up to do!
Yes, I went 38 years without being able to vote because I was a 'Permanent Resident' (i.e., Green Card holder) rather than a naturalized Citizen. Well that changed 2 years ago. Since then I have NOT missed any election.I think this was the sixth time I have voted. Wow. Getting quite the pro. Kind of know the ropes.
I was the same when I lived in the UK. Always made a point of voting. Don't think I missed an election.

The sad thing is that I am no longer au fait with our town politics!
Yes, I am a political junkie BUT these days it is all National Politics & some International. I have really ignored local intrigue. This is, however, somewhat reason. Up until 2 years ago I had at least one kid in school. I had skin in the game.
We used to be VERY ACTIVE in school politics when both girls attended school. We went to ALL the School Board meetings & we stood up & spoke often. We were involved.
Today, I didn't know many of the names that were on the ballots -- i.e., town & school. I need to fix that. 😇
It was good. Met some folks I knew. That is always good.
Now wait to see the results. They should be interesting. 😇
