I am NO LONGER a Buddhist (& that has now been true for over 50 years).
I was brought up a Buddhist in a very devout Buddhist family -- my adoptive father a Buddhist activist & a BIG WIG all his life.
I know my Buddhism.
I had 14-years during which I was totally IMMERSED in Buddhism. I went to a Buddhist school, attended Buddhist Sunday school, closely interacted with Buddhist monks each & every day of my life and usually went to Buddhist temple at least twice a week. There are two things from Buddhism that I believe 100%.
1/ Life is impermanent. We all die.
2/ Moderation, in everything, is NOT a bad thing (though I think we need to make exceptions for SEX and red wine).
But, I always had problems with the 'life is suffering' creed. I just can't live with that. I just can't.
By the time I was 18 I also fully understood that I CANNOT -- I just cannot -- believe in reincarnation.
So, I gave up being a Buddhist.
No, I did NOT embrace another religion.
I am STRICTLY ARELIGIOUS. No RELIGION, whatsoever. Period.
I am very happy without any religion.
Being unburdened of religion makes you happy.
😇
