'Appropriate Adult' For 'Fred West' In 'Netflix' 'A British Horror Story' -- Only Because He Was Illiterate.

Yes, I have been watching it, i.e., 'Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story'.

Very early on an Appropriate Adult is assigned to Fred West.

Netflix made it out like this was routine -- just like the assigning of a solicitor/lawyer.

But, that did NOT make sense to me.

I had never seen, or heard of it, BEFORE for an adult.

I thought, just by its very name, that it was reserved just for kids.

Fred West was a 52 year old ADULT.

So, it made no sense. He had a good solicitor working for him -- & it didn't look like it was court appointed.

So, I was puzzled.

I had to look it up.

He got an Appropriate Adult because he was illiterate. That still doesn't make sense to me since he had a solicitor, at all times, looking after his interests.

Shame on Netflix for NOT explaining this properly. SECOND documentary in a ROW, the other being 'A Deadly American Marriage', that Netflix has been SUPER SLOPPY. SHAME of Netflix AGAIN.

I am sure there are a LOT of Americans who have just assumed that this is the norm. That all adults in the UK get assigned an Appropriate Adult. NOT SO. That would be one heck of a burden.
