That is IT. I am so, so DONE with bloody Garmin.
I have auto-update on. So, 21.19 was automatically downloaded yesterday. I was asked permission to install it & I said 'Yes' assuming that it was a 'normal' update.
My mistake.
It was a bloody disaster. An abomination.
After the update my Epix Gen 2 was DEAD. DEAD. Like a brick.
Well, I have worn a Garmin on my wrist for 8-years. I know thing or two about them. I have gone through much with them.
I AM AN EXPERT on Garmin SOFT RESETS!
I did 6 SOFT RESETS. Finally I got some life.
I pressed buttons, canceled FIT & Map updates ... & finally got it to boot.
My customized watch faces were SHOT.
I had to re-customize the one I use the MOST.
I was not amused.
I had wasted an HOUR.
I didn't have an hour to waste.
I was so disgusted.
Earlier this year I had decided that after 8-years, & 14 DIFFERENT Garmins (in those 8 years) THAT I am DONE with Garmin.
Stupid Prices. Too many outages. And unreliable software.
I am going with either an 'Amazfit' or a 'Wear OS' watch. I will sure keep you posted. Promise.
