Yes, I had read/heard of the Canadian boycott of U.S. travels & how this was impacting Maine.
Well, over the last 3 days I got to check it out first hand. I was in 'Acadia' for three days, May 27 -- May 30, 2025. I was out & about 16 hours a day.
During this visit I only met ONE CANADIAN, a young student from Halifax. She told me that she had NOT met any others & had NOT seen any cars (other than hers) with Canadian plates. [That was on my first day, within 2 hours of getting there.]
So, I started keeping any eye on plates too. Didn't see ANY Canadian plates (other than her car which had been parked close to mine).
I checked with two major hotels in Bar Harbor. They confirmed that they were seeing LESS Canadians.
Just letting you know. Yes, this could change overnight -- especially if Canada does become the 51st State.😇 😇
