Saturday's UNH graduation had more than twice that -- at least 1,300 graduating students (one of them my daughter).
NO BAG CHECKS!
I had my camera bag open waiting for it to be checked. There was nobody to check it!
NO METAL DETECTORS.
Theoretically, it was ticked entry -- 4 tickets were graduate. Well, that was the theory.
For every door where tickets were being checked, there were four others unchecked, unguarded. So called 'Exit Only' doors kept open, ajar or with people allowed to tailgate. It was a farce.
I was not amused. I am NOT paranoid but we expect security at large gatherings -- especially when someone like the Governor is attending.
I was surprised and disappointed.
I had two daughters there -- one graduating & another attending.
I feel that they were put at risk. Yes, we were all at risk, but I worry most about the kids.
Yes, I wrote to the President of UNH. She will ignore me.
Yes, I wrote to the Governor as well. Her Office might respond.
Yes, I Googled to see if College graduations are supposed to have metal detectors and bag checks. Yes, they are.
Not Good. 😒
