The DNS records YOU get could be different, BUT in this FORMAT.

I successfully setup a Bluehost Professional e-Mail PRO mailbox yesterday. It went well.

But, I had done a ton of homework, talked with Bluehost support 3 times & (most importantly) set it up, over the phone, with step-by-step help/support by one of their knowledgeable, experienced Reps. That was the trick. She made it as smooth as possible. Without her, it would not have gone as swimmingly. << I will do a separate post about that, i.e., my recommended approach for setting up a Bluehost Professional e-mail mailbox. >>

The one thing that had frustrated me when I was doing the homework was that there was no comprehensive documentation on ALL the DNS records that I was going to need. I asked multiple times. They even sent me a document from their sister-company 'Hostgator'. But, I was NOT satisfied.

To be fair to them, YOU get, step-by-step ALL the DNS records you need ONCE the mailbox has been set-up. The addresses provided will depend on where (i.e., server) the mailbox is installed. Hence their hesitation.

What I am providing YOU here is the DNS records I used. [Actually they did NOT give me the CNAME records. I had to call up support to get them! I knew I should have POP, SMTP, & IMAP records. Yes, that was a tad frustrating. But we prevailed.]

This should help YOU know what to expect.

This is it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yes, you will get the MX, SPF & DKIM records from them, step-by-step, ONCE the box is installed. That could take about 10 minutes.

All the records can be COPIED & PASTED -- with a 'copy' button provided next to the records. It is all quite methodical.

They even have a nifty checker to make sure that the records they provided were correctly installed in YOUR DNS. That was nice. That was good.

So, hope this helps. I wish I had this the night before. That way I could have been prepared as to what I had to do. The absence of CNAME records is a mystery.

But, I am HAPPY. It worked. The mailbox was active, online WITHIN minutes! Yes, my DNS was propagated FAST.

😇
