China Has Perfected Using Waste Industrial Heat To Power Desalination.

Wow. This is so obvious.

Think of Data Centers. One of the BIGGEST problems is COOLING -- i.e., getting rid of all the heat that is generated, i.e., unwanted heat that has to be got rid of.

And this is just one example. Even nuclear plants. Cooling. Cooling. Cooling.

Growing up on an oceanic island, i.e., Ceylon/Sri Lanka, I was always intrigued by the promise of desalination. All that salty sea water ... IF only we could get rid of the salt.

As it happened, for centuries, we knew how to get sea salt from the seawater just using the sun.

We had salt beds. 

Just divert seawater into them & then let the sun do its magic.

But, we didn't try to capture the 'distilled' water. We didn't have the 'equipment' -- mainly all that glass.

Energy has always been the BOTTLENECK when it came to desalination.

Then I saw on a newsfeed today that China has finally cracked the code.

Use unwanted heat from industry.

Wow. China really is marching ahead in so many areas. Wow. 😇
