As I posted on Nov. 15, 2024, folks were pleading the pope to grant a PARDON for this magnificent, towering tree. It wasn't required. They, i.e., Vatican, could have done with a smaller tree or even better, an artificial one.
But, despite all is empty talk about conservation & climate change, this old, grumpy pope did not budge. He was cool with it being cut.
Yesterday he had the audacity to gush over it. Claimed that cutting it was 'good' -- i.e., planned ... part of a sustainability program. No way. Not right. This tree should have been spared. Let it grow taller. Oh, but NO. Pope wanted it cut.
Not sure how we can respect this pope. 😡
