I saw this post on 'Google News' yesterday. It did NOT surprise me because a few days earlier, out of idle curiosity, I had done a search on XT4 availability locally -- i.e., within 100 miles. There were about 20, albeit a mix of both 2024 & 2025. That was not encouraging, i.e., that they still had UNSOLD 2024 models. I also noticed, with amusement, that there had been no discernable reduction in price.
Now to be fair, a couple of dealers had told me earlier in the year, when I inquired, that they were confident that some XT4 would still be available come June. Well, that was last year.
Appears that the XT4, surprisingly, isn't selling that well.
That, of course, is cited as the reason it was discontinued to begin with.
In mid-2024, I was convinced that my next 'car' would be a XT4.
I like Cadillac's & I like the Infotainment System on the XT4.
But then I learnt it was being discontinued.
I also came to the realization that I want ANOTHER HYBRID (i.e., non-plug-in) like my current 'Volvo XC60'. It is NOT for the milage. It is purely for the enhanced (electric motor powered) acceleration. I am (kind of) addicted to that acceleration -- it is pretty awesome. Real rocketship feeling.
Right now I am NOT sure when I will replace the XT4. The warranty on it is good for 4-years, i.e., start of November this year. I still only have 30,000 miles on it.
So, I could wait until early next year.
IF I can get a XT4 real cheap I might, I might consider it. But not sure I want to get a 2025 model in the 2026 model year.
Well it is an option.
