Today, July 29, 2025 Is 'International Tiger Day'.

I only found out because I saw a small tiger icon on my 'Windows 11' search bar. I had to click. BINGO. 'Google' is still pretty amazing.

I like BIG cats. Allergic, in every way, to little cats (& I can make a joke here ...).

I am fond of tigers -- of all colors. I have petted a tiger. I would LOVE to own one.

I just checked. Worldwide tiger populations have increased since 2010 -- thanks to conservation efforts. We still don't have that many -- less than 6,000. But numbers were nearly half in 2010! So, that is a start.

Something else I just found & it is CRAZY.

International Tiger Day came to be 2010. It was the initiative of Vladimir Putin! Yes, that Putin -- albeit 24 years ago. 

Russia has tigers. Their population was declining. Hence Putin's interest. Now we both know.
